A Grand Re-Opening for the Reach Unlimited Gift Shop!

Many thanks to the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce for a wonderful Ribbon Cutting Ceremony as we "officially" re-opened the Reach Unlimited Gift Shop!  We had a big crowd of Chamber members, Reach staff and board members, Gift Shop regulars, friends and family as we celebrated with food, fellowship, and of course, shopping!  Special thanks were given to our Reach Angels, the donors, volunteers and hard workers that made the rebuilding and renovations to the shop possible:  Carmen and Steven Shell, Terri Zacharias, Don Graff, Philip Blair and Erin Gilligan, and Karen Forde.  We also announced that the studio where our fused glass is made is officially being named the Dr. David N. Shell Memorial Glass Studio, in honor of the man who helped to develop our Enterprise program.  A fused glass plaque, created by his son and grandson will be mounted at the door of the studio.

It was a very special day!  The Gift Shop has a new, clean look inside and out, and will hopefully be able to withstand the weather that Houston can dish out for at least 10 more years!

My my, how things have changed!

Since last I wrote, the Reach Unlimited Gift Shop has gotten a major overhaul (thanks to the help of a few wonderful Reach Angels!): a new roof, foundation leveling, interior patching and painting, new ramp and deck extension and hopefully by next week, exterior paint!!  We will be unveiling a whole new look, and we are SO excited!!  Watch for our Grand Re-Opening announcement because YOU are invited!

Inside the shop, things have also changed with the seasons!  Winter is long gone, and we are filled to the seams with beautiful spring glass.  Shamrocks and Easter bunnies (both coming and going!) An amazing Tulip collection, and a gorgeous Succulent collection.  Our Reach client-artisans just keep turning out beautiful glass!  There's something new every day.  Come visit us!

Closed for inventory

Closed for Inventory 2018.jpg

Eleticia and several of our extraordinary glass volunteers, John and Geoff, have been working hard to complete the studio inventory so we can order glass to start our 2018 production.  It's amazing how much glass we went through in October and November!  All tools and equipment have been checked, repaired and/or replacement parts ordered.  All that remains is to do the outside count in the shop.  Erin, our Thursday volunteer, will be helping with inventory there (on non-Thursdays, thank goodness!)  She's really good at the Point of Sale system we use, so we can get the job done quickly.

Believe it or not, Eleticia and I have already had our 2018 Holiday planning meeting, because after all, Christmas in July is only seven months away!  But we do have some great Valentine's gifts already designed.....and just wait till you see what we have planned for Spring!

See you soon!--Colleen

Road Trips

For the past several months, we've been at craft shows and even a festival with an outdoor booth--quite an experience with glass!--almost every weekend.  It's a long and winding road, as they say, and a very tiring one!  Glass is HEAVY!  But we've met wonderful people and heard so many nice things, and our sales have been tremendous.  Many thanks to all of our friends out there!

We still have a few upcoming shows--one in Bryan/College Station, so look for us there!  And then please join us for two lovely events here at home in our own cozy shop.  Hopefully we'll sell all our beautiful Christmas and Holiday glass!

After the holidays, we look forward to replacing our badly Harvey damaged roof and getting the shop on a firmer foundation, with funding help from some special Angels!  And the Enterprise staff, wonderful hardworking volunteers and absolutely amazing client artisans will slow down for a month or so......before we start the "holiday" process all over again!

To all of our families and friends, we wish you a safe and peaceful Holiday Season!

Craft Show Schedule 2017.jpg

It's that time of year: Our annual "Christmas in July" Market is here!!

Believe it or not, Enterprise begins working on Christmas glass in January!  Eleticia and I spent hours immediately after the holidays deciding on the themes for our 2017 collections, then determining the individual plates, bowls, trays, ornaments, etc., within each collection.  Then our amazing glass cutters began preparing all the thousands of pieces of glass. Next, volunteers began working with the clients to turn all those cut pieces of glass into unique items that would go into the kilns and become the finished products that you will see in the shop!    For 10 years we have had a Limited Edition Ornament, which we keep under wraps until next week's preview.  This year's is stunning!  We sell out every year, often by the end of November.  Be sure to get yours early!  By popular demand, last year we designed an absolutely gorgeous Nativity Triptych, which we are selling only by special order.  Last year we sold the centerpiece, The Holy Family.  This year we are selling the first side-piece, The Three Kings (we are taking pre-orders beginning next week.)  We will sell The Shepherd boy in 2018. I look forward to seeing you next week at our "Christmas in July" Market!  Come by for the preview, because it won't be back in the shop until November!--Colleen

Cinco de Mayo at the Reach Unlimited Gift Shop

For the past 3 or 4 years we have had a Cinco de Mayo Open House at the Reach Unlimited Gift Shop.  We pour cold margaritas and serve chips & salsa while our customers enjoy the spring weather and shop our latest fused glass.  This year we have some truly inspired collections!  Our clients have gotten better and better at making glass.  You simply have to see some of these items to believe the work our clients do.  The fun begins at 5pm on Friday, Cinco de Mayo.  See below for more details!

Last Chance to Shop for Bunnies!

If you were at Springfest, you know what a beautiful and fun day it was!  The Gift Shop was crowded with people, and we did an amazing business!  Thank you all!!  So many of our cute Easter plates, bowls and ornaments have gone to good homes, but we do have some wonderful items left.  And the clients, Eleticia, and our wonderful volunteers are already hard at work making some fabulous Mother's Day and Spring glass.  We're even starting work on Summer.  This year's theme is....."Back to the Beach!"

A New Look

Hello everyone and welcome to our new website! Thanks to the students at Lone Star Kingwood, we have a new place to show everyone what we are working on, and to talk about whats going on here at Reach. This news area will be a great source of information if you want to keep up with us, so check with us often!

Tomorrow, April 8th, we will be participating in the Springfest. This year the theme is Surfin' Safari.  We will have games, entertainment, food, a silent auction and more! It's an amazing community event, that our clients and volunteers love to take place in. As of now, there will be around 1000 people in attendance. If you would like more information, you can find it here. We hope to see everyone out there!
